Reverant Boghos Natanyan wast sent to Sivas by the patriarchate of Istanbul Armenians of that tiem, Nerses Varjabedian, in order to investigate the application of first Armenian Constitiution in Ottoman Empire declared in 1863. Boghos Natanyan then prepared a detailed report of Sivas and surrounding villages of Tokat, Amasya and Merzifon.
In Sivas 1877 this report and many other visual materials were used, and regions of Sivas and Armenian population of that time were resurrected.
