It is generally recognized that Greek painters from Istanbul contributed to a great extent to Ottoman and Turkish culture, beginning during the Byzantine era. Our book contains nearly 200 biographies of Greek painters of Istanbul, and gives 520 samples from their works.
Mayda Saris graduated from Sainte Pulcherie and Lyce Notre Dame de Sion and graduated in 1974. While in Faculty of French Philology in İstanbul University, she also attended Modern Art Lectures in Mimar Sinan University. Separate from that she took fashion design lectures. She worked in the areas of plastic arts, art history, antiquariat and philodophy between the years 1990-1995. For the following ten years, she was one of the editors in Agos Daily newspaper. In 2011, she established Paros as known as multicultural social magazine.
